Every year, hundreds of various opening ceremonies, parties, corporate events, exhibitions, and promo activities are held in Azerbaijan. It is commonly known that such events are usually organized by foreign companies. In order to find out whether local companies are active in this field, we visited several supermarkets and shopping malls across the city.

Our research led us to Promoter.az, a platform owned by PROMOTEAM MMC. It turned out that a number of promo activities in supermarkets and some stand events in shopping malls are organized through the Promoter.az platform.

To learn more about the platform’s activities, we spoke with Elnur Mammadov, co-founder of PROMOTEAM. We met him at the Promoter.az office. As I arrived a bit earlier than the scheduled interview time, I also had the opportunity to attend one of Mr. Elnur’s training sessions. He was briefing team members on product presentation and customer communication. After the training ended, we began our conversation.

Commenting on the training, Mr. Mammadov noted that he constantly strives to improve his team, and that the current training session was part of this ongoing development process. Speaking about the company’s services and activities, he explained that Promoter.az is a platform providing staffing services for corporate and private events, exhibitions, promo campaigns, parties, and filming projects:

“We have included all the services required for organizing events on our platform. These include videographers, photographers, hosts, photo models, promoters, hostesses, supervisors, promo models, and character performers.”

Speaking about the necessity and purpose behind creating the platform, Mr. Mammadov emphasized that there was a strong need for a company offering comprehensive staffing services and simplifying the process for clients seeking such services:

“I observed that companies often struggle to find professional staff to organize their events. At the same time, many talented individuals had limited opportunities to showcase their skills. Promoter.az was created out of this necessity. The main goal of our platform is to establish an easy and efficient connection between companies looking for promoters and individuals offering promoter services.”

Mr. Mammadov also spoke about the “Talents” section of the website, which caught our attention:

“In the section called ‘Talents,’ you can order services such as animators, makeup artists, stand-up performers, face art, fire shows, and dance groups. Since these services differ from others in terms of skills and creativity, and to make it easier for users to search, we created a separate ‘Talents’ category on our website.”

The co-founder of the platform, which offers more than 10 different services, stated that they plan to expand their operations in the future and briefly explained some of the services available on the site:

“We provide promo model services, where staff are model-looking, friendly, active, and communicative, promoting products or services at exhibitions, events, and advertising campaigns. Promoters are sociable individuals who participate in tasting or sales-stimulating activities in supermarkets and open areas, distribute catalogs or flyers at homes, catering venues, or outdoor locations, and do not require strict appearance standards. Hostess services include well-presented women who speak multiple languages and welcome guests as company representatives at various events and venues.”

He also noted that users can find detailed information about services and service requirements in the Blog section of Promoter.az.

Mr. Mammadov further explained how users can benefit from the platform’s services:

“Users can find the required service either by typing it into the ‘Search’ section or by browsing the ‘Our Services’ and ‘Talents’ sections. After that, a list of suitable candidates is displayed. Clients can review brief information about each candidate as well as their previous work. Once a candidate is selected, they are added to the ‘Cart.’ To place an order, the client must register and provide company and personal information. After submitting the request, a response and price offer are sent shortly.”

Answering our question about the professionalism of service providers on the platform, Mr. Mammadov explained that service providers share detailed information about themselves and their experience:

“Individuals who wish to offer their services fill out the registration form and submit their details. After reviewing the information, we either approve the application or inform the applicant via email if they do not meet our requirements. In addition, we conduct castings to ensure the professionalism of service providers, allowing us to have accurate information about them.”
